Frascati is on the most suggestive part of the Roman castles on the south side facing Rome. The hotel is in the city centre of Frascati, most known for the beauty of its villas, so called "Ville Tuscolane", and for the prestige of its wine. According to its legend Frascati was built on the ancient ruins of the city of Tuscolo. It was made city in 1583 by pope Paolo III who built a wall all around it and called it “Tusculum Novum”.
By walking around Frascati you can see many monuments of different interest and the noble families ' villas such as Villa Aldobrandini in Piazza Roma, Villa Torlonia with its numerous fountains and gardens opened to the public, the beautiful Villa Lancellotti, along the road to Tuscolo and the majestic entrance of Villa Rufinella. The churches of Frascati are important too, and offer the visitors the charm of art and religious atmosphere. Not to miss are the church "Cattedrale di San Pietro", on the main square, the ancient "Chiesa di Santa Maria in Vivario", la "Chiesa del Gesł" with its extraordinary prospectives and the "Chiesa dei Cappuccini" built on the mountain terrace looking into the countryside and all the way to Monte Soratte.
For the lovers of exhibitions the Ethiopian museum, dedicated to Guglielmo Massaia, has in show the Scuderie Aldobrandini, recently renewed by the architect Massimiliano Fuksas, and an archaeological ruins section, modern art and other seasonal exhibitions.
